ANROWS

Australia’s National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety Limited, or ANROWS, is a unique research organisation, being one of the only national organisations across the world tasked with building, translating and disseminating the evidence base to inform policy and practice on women’s and children’s safety.

ANROWS was established as an initiative of Australia’s first National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010–2022 (the National Plan) by the Commonwealth Government and all state and territory governments of Australia. Since the launch of our inaugural research program in October 2014, ANROWS has delivered quality research and associated reports, research synthesis papers, tools and resources across all priority areas of the National Plan. Importantly, ANROWS has also actively worked with decision-makers to support the take-up of the evidence it has produced.

In a relatively short period, ANROWS has developed a reputation for excellence in the production of evidence to guide policy and practice in the violence against women field. Consequently, and in addition to our core funding that is jointly provided by the Commonwealth, states and territories, ANROWS has been successful in tendering for research and evaluation projects.
