Domestic & Family Violence Training
Domestic and family violence is being increasingly recognised as a National crisis in Australia.
For people impacted by domestic and family violence, the workplace can be a safe space to confide in or even reach out for help.
Learning the skills necessary to safely and respectfully support your team can change someone’s life.
Within Australia, the Fair Work Amendment (Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave) Bill 2022, entitles employees to 10 days paid leave for full-time, part-time and casual employees and places responsibilities upon workplaces to ensure their policy and procedures meet the new Fair Work requirements.
Purpose
The purpose of the training is to assist workplaces to understand and respond to disclosures of domestic and family violence in a safe and respectful way whilst meeting the new Fair Work requirements.
In addition to discussing the forms of domestic and family violence, this session also highlights the underlying gendered drivers of violence and how through being active bystanders, we can create a workplace culture of safety and respect.
Learning outcomes
- Participants will gain an evidenced and trauma informed understanding of the knowledge and skills needed to safely understand how to identify and respond to individuals impacted by domestic and family violence.
- Participants will understand the important role of bystanders in creating respectful and equitable work environments.
- The training will increase employee capability with the skills and strategies to create a workplace safety plan and culture of respect.
Sexual Harassment training and support
Sexual harassment is a widespread problem impacting the safety, wellbeing and welfare of employees and puts an organisation’s at risk.
In Australia, the Anti-Discrimination and Human Rights Legislation Amendment (Respect at Work) Bill, 2022, has been introduced to Parliament with the purpose to establish a positive duty on employers to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace.
Creating a positive workplace culture that promotes staff safety is an important step in developing respectful workplaces.
Purpose
The purpose of the training is to assist workplaces to recognise, prevent and respond to sexual harassment within the workplace. In Australia, sexual harassment is a widespread problem that impacts the safety, wellbeing and welfare of employees whilst also putting organisations at risk.
In addition to examining the prevalence of sexual harassment in Australian workplaces, this session will also highlight the underlying causes of sexual harassment and suggest steps that both individuals and teams may take to bring about organisational change.

Respect@Work Training
In Australia, sexual harassment, racism and discrimination is a widespread problem that puts organisations at risk whilst also impacting the safety, wellbeing and welfare of employees. In the past 5 years, workplace sexual harassment has affected 39% of Australian women and 26% of Australian men. Workplaces are now being held accountable for reducing and responding to psycho-social hazards.

Resilient workplaces training
When we have staff who are respectful and caring combined with a positive workplace culture, this can lead to disclosures of abuse and harassment. For many of our staff who hear these disclosures, this can have an impact upon their wellbeing.
We can’t avoid these conversations within the workplace, however, what we can do is to build our resilience to respond effectively to these.
Workplace resilience training supports your staff to identify, manage and respond to these challenges more effectively.
Purpose
This training provides a learning experience that enables participants to develop the practice skills to recognise, understand and better respond to stress.
The training will support to increase staff self awareness and empowerment so that they can understand the impact of stress, mental health and vicarious trauma.
Through ensuring staff are aware of their own needs, can identify when to seek support and when to connect with others, this can enhance staff safety and wellbeing, reducing absenteeism and increasing workplace engagement.
Learning outcomes
- Understanding the difference between good stress vs bad stress and developing an awareness of the individual’s stressors and emotional responses at work.
- Developing an understanding of resilience and how to form resilient teams.
- Creating a self care plan and identifying when an individual is in most need of support.
Delivery of training sessions
Sessions can be delivered face to face or virtually across Australia.
All sessions are delivered by our excellent and dynamic facilitators and use a variety of adult learning styles, activities and resources to engage across all workplaces and employees.
The training is delivered using a trauma informed approach and can be co-facilitated with a male and female presenter.
Online sessions are provided via a secure platform and embedded with activities which encourage engagement and connection with the content throughout.

This training is also suitable for individuals who are interested in learning more about harassment and abuse and the role they can play in creating a workplace culture of respect and equality.
Individual supervision
Workplace Respect has the skills and experience to provide individual supervision to aid professionals, leaders and employees.
We offer specialist supervision and coaching. These sessions are adapted to an individual’s need and can include debriefing of complex cases or broader individual support. Our supervision is delivered in a trauma informed, solution focussed and strengths based approach.
We also can offer Professional Supervision which meets Social Work registration requirements.
Group supervision
Workplace Respect understands that working collectively can provide further individual support and is able to provide group supervision. This can support teams through complex case facilitation and reflection. Teams will be able to safely and collaboratively unpack case scenarios whilst being inclusive and respectful, which can enable group learning and growth.
These sessions can also include Critical Incident debriefing if required.
Policy review and development
We know that effective policies and procedures are living documents that must grow and adapt with a company. While the core elements and the intent of a policy will likely remain the same, the details of how to make it happen need to adapt to the changes in our community, industry and organisation.
